Karen has enjoyed long and successfully diverse career across a broad range of sectors. Starting 26 years ago in retail working in fashion, beauty, childrenswear and sport - including M&S, Kingfisher, Burton Group, Mothercare and JJB Sports - she built a reputation as a formidable sales driver, leadership role model and innovator.
Moving into the pub sector 10 years ago working for Greene King she led the business through enormous changes and at the most successful financial period in the groups history as a Managing Director for their Premium, Urban and Venture Brands. Karen left GK this Summer and is now undertaking consultancy work and progressing a portfolio career.
Externally she is well know as a leader in the hospitality sector for the role she has played as an ally for Inclusion - culminating in her winning the European Diversity Champion of the Year last year and Role model for inclusion for WiHtL 2022 as well as Guardian Pride Powerlist Ally for 2 years running in 2021/22.
